November Rain

A shot-for-shot remake of the guitar solo from Guns 'n' Roses 'November Rain' music video, with 'Slash' from Guns 'n' Roses played by a skeleton.
This was a hugely fun personal project, especially the animation, as there is such joy of movement in the way Slash prances and preens on stage. The skeleton was modeled from anatomy reference in Maya and rigged with HumanIK. The environment was modeled and textured in Maya, with reference to the music video. The mountains/sky background is a stock image applied to a surrounding cylinder. The guitar was based on a steel electric guitar on display in the Museum of Modern Art, New York.
